Updated: 2:22 p.m. Friday
A 21-year-old Clinton Township man has been arrested in…Read More connection to the early Thursday morning hit-and-run involving a woman in New Baltimore, police said Friday. I'm writing this on Thursday. Do you have a Time Machine? If so, could I borrow it?
Merrimade Lane April 12, 2013 at 04:06 pm
Merrimade Lane resident here.. They hit my car twice in the past year, along with my neighbors as…Read More well.. I am sure they will be out soon, going right back at it.
Rachid Lane Resident April 12, 2013 at 10:01 pm
It was just a matter of time before they would be caught. We all knew who these individuals were…Read More & I'm glad they are off the streets for a little while but I will not let my guard down & neither should the police. Great job Chesterfield PD on catching these delinquents!

Thank you to the officers who were able to apprehend these people. ... it'd be great if the…Read More prosecutors and judges in charge of handling this from here would go with maximum sentencing guidelines for once instead of plea bargaining the charges down for whoever can afford the best attorney!

The Chesterfield Police do a great job in the community dispite the citizens failure to back them on…Read More a millage increase last year. This is not Detroit thank god. Fortunately for us we do not have the volume of violent crime that the Detroit Police are exposed to on a daily basis. So yes the Chesterfield Police Department are not as well equipped to handle violent felons simply because they don't see as many. Simply being able to control your breathing and heartbeat during volitale situations is something that cannot be taught in the acadamy. It only comes from experience and I am not so certain I want our Police to be all that experienced with handling violent felons, and potential killers, as obviously we would all have to live thru the training curve.

Good to see this is all over and nobody got hurt. Good job to all those involved in the…Read More apprehension. It is very difficult to track someone, so I would not Monday morning quarterback. It still amazes me the thought process of some people. Also more baffling from the "educated."

I have to add one thing...I am a friend of the victims mother and I live in New York City, I had no…Read More knowledge of this story until I came upon my friends Facebook post. - I live in a place where if you call 9/11 from oh say the South Bronx- u will wait forever for the police- if u call from the Upper East Side of Manhattan- u will not wait more than 5 minutes. There is a bias when it comes to police- that is just the facts. I need to say IMO a lot of praise & gratitude go to the young man the victim was Skyping with.He was smart enough to call the parents who were smart enough to call the cops. IF NOT FOR THAT SKYPE...so for me yes thank god the cops got there in time-BUT TRUTH be told- the guy DID GET BY THE POLICE! that's absurd. He had practically been given over to the police by all the quick thinking people in this story- from the victim hitting him in the head- awesome!-to the young man calling the parents to them calling the police- they get there and HE STILL RUNS BY THEM??? AND THAN THERE IS A MANHUNT FOR HIM A COUPLE OF DAYS??? Im sorry but that is NOT an adequate response from the police. It seems almost comical in a very serious matter. I SAY PROPS TO ALL THE PLAYERS..sans the police. tho thank god they finally got him. (he was tired!) ALL MY PRAYERS & GOOD THOUGHTS ARE WITH THIS FAMILY...
Cyndi Gagleard April 8, 2013 at 01:55 am
I live next door to the victim. The girl broke up with the guy last November. There are rumors that…Read More she let him in, she set him up, etc - all false! He beat her, tried choking her, dragged her down the basement, tried kidnapping her and was planning on shooting. She did not deserve this.
Many of her neighbors are wondering how he got away in the first place. We did not hear anything other than his truck being towed. We though the police got a drunk drive and was towing the vehicle. There were no police flashers. It's scary to know this guy was running around our block for at least 5 hours while the police were trying to search for him! It wasn't until later when the Patch posted about did I find out what happened next door.
Maximus Max April 8, 2013 at 01:54 pm
Was the front door kicked in? Did he have a key?
Then she let him in...
Laura Smith April 19, 2013 at 06:06 am
Wow Cyndi Gagleard, funny that you say that she broke with the guy last November but I know for a…Read More fact that she was just at his family's easter dinner before all of this happened, and at his house until Monday. I have also heard how witnesses have seen her attack him in the pass and he never touched her. Like Maximus Max said was the front door kicked in? did he have a key? then she let him in. But I guess only one side of the story gets told and that's the only truth to believe right? So glad we have a justice system for a reason, because it could never be that he was set up or maybe she lied! impressive!
