The Macomb Daily left out Coach Mike Giannone from Dakota High School out of the Article.

Is this something that coaches earn through accomplishments such as team records or championships orRead More State Tournament wins or just tenure? Just curious...

One (disputed) national championship in the last 70+ years is what UMich's record is. I don't wantRead More to hear about number of victories against the likes of Slippery Rock, Indiana and EMU. The last time they had a NationalChampionsip (other than the disputed 1997 season (where Tom Osbourne and the Nebraska team were given the crystal football) they were wearing LEATHER HELMETS.

I rightly think them thar Detroit Lions needs a NEW Head Coach that thar Jim Schwartz feller seemsRead More too have to HOT! a temper and a poor cocky Attitude thar?

Marcia - you bring up some great points. I tried to be more general in this assessment but I plan onRead More taking a look at both sides of the ball in more depth next month. Young has been a problem since he came in. Suh I see as a Bill Laimbeer type - but most of our fans don't like him either it seems. The Lions have a lot of roster decisions to make. Older players at some key areas, younger players who have big contracts. They need to figure out where to spend their money effectively. But character has to be a part of that equation I agree on that point.

Mike- The culture of the Lions organization- which continues on no matter what players they have orRead More who is the coach or general manager, is that of losers. Luckily, I was never a Lion's "fan". Would recommend you find another NFL team to root for while you're still young.

Michael, I cheered for the Detroit Pussycats for 20 years and was let down every year. For the pastRead More 6 years, I ONLY cheer for the Lion's opponents. For the past 50+ years, William Clay Ford has owned this team and has given us nothing but junk, disappointment and poor quality. Had he been at his namesake's car company, it would be broke. How many players, coaches, general managers had WCF had in the past 50 years? Lots, many of the players went onto good careers after leaving this place, coaches have not been so lucky. I believe Mooch is the only one that is still in the game. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results--which is the definition of Detroit Lionball. When will the fans wake up and demand that they will not continue to put bucks in Ford's pocket until he sells the team. It is time to "Fire The Fords."

It would be interesting to find out whether you would have made a lot of money or not, by bettingRead More against the Lions in every game for the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years. I suspect you would have made a load of money. Sadly I don't know a bookie

Actually Lee...that's not true. While the Lions invent new ways to lose on a weekly basis, theyRead More normally cover the spread pretty well. It's a toss up...but the Lions give bookies and gamblers fits all the time. This week...they missed it by a point. Green Bay should've mopped them up.
