What is the state of the economy in 2013? That’s the question we’re asking this week, and we would like to know what you think. The Labor Department released a report Friday that said employers added 155,000 jobs in December, according to NPR. The Big Three automakers are poised for a big 2013, according to the Detroit Free Press. And the stock market closed the week at a bull market high, according to the USA Today. With that news, do you feel optimistic about the economy in 2013? Are the nation’s financial fortunes turning the corner, or do you feel like there is still trouble ahead? How do you feel the state of Michigan will fare this year, and will the auto companies lead the way? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

It was essential that Congress avoid the highly damaging effects of going over the fiscal cliff. Inaction would have threatened to throw us back into a recession, and that was clearly unacceptable. So while I would have preferred an agreement that better addressed our historical shortfall in revenues, passing an imperfect agreement was far better than the alternative of returning to recession. But the harsh reality is that we have delayed only for two months the damaging automatic spending cuts called sequestration. As we seek in the coming months a more comprehensive approach to avoid sequestration, one that will require both prudent spending cuts and additional revenues, it is imperative that we focus on the hundreds of billions of …

my daughter atteneds the high school. There were various letters emailed out to parents. I have alot of trust in the school. There were threats made at the school and the police were called in immediately. They did random locker and car searches. They patrolled the halways. I am very impressed with the way the school handles the situation and I had little issues with sending my daughter to school…   more ›

If those elected who are stupid enough to push this vote though- then they can also be sure that we the people will remember them…   more ›

I cannot fathom what I would do with all of that much money. A few things in mind. Some big checks to the shelters and crisis centers where I've volunteered. To schools where I've worked and attended. Personally, I love it in Costa Rica, I'd find a place for me to live during the cold months and sponsor more than few schools technologically (and in whatever other ways they say they needed things…   more ›

My opinion is that if you served active duty fighting you should get Cadillac health care benefits for life and a reasonable pension. NOT the government bureaucrats. Obama’s health care takeover is for the masses, but not for Washington – they keep their Cadillacs. THANK YOU Retired Army Veteran for your service to this country to keep all of us safe.
