7-Eleven Expands Fresh Foods Menu

7-Eleven beefs up fresh foods menu with new premium sandwiches and packaging in Chesterfield Township.

After introducing several new-for-you salads, snacks and mini-versions of consumer favorites, 7-Eleven, Inc. turns its attention to heartier fare with the addition of two new premium sandwiches – the Steakhouse Roast Beef and Bistro Deluxe. Du better ring March, consumers have an added incentive to buy the sandwiches– a free 16-ounce bottled Pepsi drink with purchase. Suggested retail price is $4.29. Meijer Purse-Snatching Leads to Stolen GPS Devices

Chesterfield police arrested a 21-year-old township man Tuesday afternoon on multiple charges.

Tracking down a suspected purse-snatcher led police to stolen GPS devices Tuesday in Chesterfield Township.  Andrew Oland, 21 of Chesterfield, was arraigned Wednesday in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore on charges of larceny from person, a 10-year felony, and possession of a stolen credit card, a four-year felony, according to Detective Sgt. Deron Myers. Oland was lodged in Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond. The charges stem from around noon Monday when a 33-year-old Chesterfield woman reported to police that her purse was snatched from her cart inside Meijer at 23 Mile and Gratiot. Apparently, officials at 7-Eleven and Caribou Coffee have caught onto this little secret, and just in time: Saturday is National Coffee Day. More than 8,000 participating 7-Eleven stores nationwide will give away a 20-ounce cup of coffee from 6 to 10 a.m. Sept. 28. Limit one per customer. Accused Serial Armed Robber Nabbed After Hold-Ups in Chesterfield and Clinton Townships

Michael Zech, 28 of Mount Clemens, was arraigned Friday in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore.

A 28-year-old Mount Clemens man was arraigned today in New Baltimore on armed robbery charges for three separate hold-ups last November in Chesterfield and Clinton townships. He faces two counts of armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Zech, who is accused of brandishing a large nickel-plated or chrome semi-automatic handgun during the robberies, is being lodged in Macomb County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 cash bond in regard to the Chesterfield-based charges, according to Chesterfield Township Detective Sgt. Mark Your Calendar: Wednesday is Free Slurpee Day

7-Eleven stores in the Chesterfield Township area will offer 7.11-ounce Slurpees Wednesday, July 11, to celebrate the chain's birthday.

7-Eleven is turning 85 and, per tradition, the chain is offering patrons free 7.11-ounce Slurpees on Wednesday. Customers can grab a mini Slurpee from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at stores throughout the Chesterfield Township area. However, the free Slurpees are only available while supplies last, so you'll want to get yours as soon as possible. Since 2002, millions of free Slurpees have been given away on July 11 and 7-Eleven estimates this will be the biggest birthday giveaway to date. Nationwide, the company expects to hand out 7 million free Slurpees.  The Slurpee drink itself is celebrating 45 years of icy goodness.
