Ashley Elementary And Great Oaks Elementary Designated Reward Schools

Reward Schools perform in the top five percent of all schools in the state of Michigan, according to Anchor Bay School District.

Two Anchor Bay Schools have been designated "Reward Schools" for their high performance level. Ashley Elementary in New Baltimore and Great Oaks Elementary in Chesterfield Township received the state of Michigan designation because they perform in the top five percent of all schools in the state, according to a presentation at a previous Anchor Bay Schools Board of Education meeting. No school in the district was placed on the "needing improvement list," the fall presentation by Joe McDonald, principal of Anchor Bay High School, and Marie DeWitte, director of Elementary Education stated. Michigan Merit Exam and ACT Scores to Be Released Today

The Michigan Department of Education will release test scores for the Michigan Merit Exam and the ACT college entrance exams today for Anchor Bay, L'Anse Creuse school districts and others.

The Michigan Department of Education will release test scores for the Michigan Merit Exam and the ACT college entrance exams today. Check back with Patch.com later today to find out how local districts fared. Anchor Bay School District students exceeded state averages in several categories of the 2011 MEAP test. The 2012 tests were adminstered in the spring. Parents should be receiving individual students' results soon.
