Dazzling dresses, pressed tuxes and shiny limousines are staples of Homecoming. The annual dance is Oct. 13 for Anchor Bay High School. The Tars' dance comes on the heels of a  big win against Cousino during Homecoming game the night before. Share your favorite (and appropriate) pictures by uploading them to this article. The annual homecoming football game and festivities took place at Anchor Bay High School Friday night.

Students, parents and alumni of Anchor Bay High School gathered Friday night for the annual Homecoming football game. A sea of red and white cheered on the Tars as they defeated the Patriots of Cousino High School 20-6. The homecoming dance will take place Oct. 13. The Tars conclude the regular season at home next Friday when they take on Romeo. They are currently 2-6 overall in regular play.

It's Homecoming time at Anchor Bay High School. The Tars will play Cousino on home field, as the crowd fills the stands to cheer them on. Patch asks Anchor Bay Student Activities Director Jennifer Serra about today's event and how the student body has been prepping for the festivities.  What kind of preparations are being made for Homecoming? Student Council members have been selling tickets for several weeks. Each grade is also responsible for helping with one aspect of HC: freshmen help with the parade, sophomores with Spirit Week, Juniors with Royalty, and Seniors handle the Pep Assembly. Anchor Bay Swim Star Returns As Coach

Matt Victor, a 2007 Anchor Bay High School graduate, will coach the girls swim and dive team at his Alma mater.

After making a splash at college, Anchor Bay alum Matt Victor is returning to his home pool as coach. Victor, a Presidential Scholar at Wayne State University, signed on this summer as head varsity coach of the girls' swim and dive team. He graduated Wayne State in 2011, leaving as a four-time NCAA All American, his mother Ann Victor told Patch. Matt Victor said he's thrilled to coach at the school, where his swimming success began. "I wanted to coach the team for a lot of reasons. First, I just truly enjoy coaching. Last year, I was an assistant coach for the Grosse Pointe Gators and absolutely loved it. After I finished my four years of swimming at Wayne State I wanted to stay involved in the sport and share the knowledge that I possess…

The Tars played Thursday night at home.

Anchor Bay High School played its first home game Thursday night against L'Anse Creuse High School Central. The Lancers defeated the Tars 33-13. Anchor Bay Schools Scores Free Detroit Symphony Orchestra Concert

Tickets will be available beginning Aug. 27 to reserve a seat for the Sept. 21 event at Anchor Bay High School.

The internationally acclaimed Detroit Symphony Orchestra will hold a free concert at 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at Anchor Bay High School. Tickets for the event presented by the DTE Energy Foundation are available starting Aug. 27 at dso.org/dtemusic. This is the second-consecutive year DTE Energy Foundation sponsored free DSO community concerts. This first series of concerts in the 2012-2013 season aim to expose the world-class symphony to remote metro Detroit communities. Newly Crowned Miss Bay-Rama Stresses Acceptance

Anchor Bay High School student Ariana Cremeens, 17 of Chesterfield Township, became Miss Bay-Rama 2012 Wednesday night in downtown New Baltimore.

The crown came on and the tears fell for 2012 Miss Bay-Rama Ariana Cremeens. "It's just like amazing because when I was a little girl, I was geeky and didn't have a lot of friends," the 17-year-old Chesterfield Township resident said immediately after she earned the title Wednesday night in downtown New Baltimore. Cremeens said she knows what it's like not to fit in because of her appearance. She was teased before losing 60 pounds at the end of her freshman year, she said. "People accept me and people think I'm pretty and it's just an amazing feeling," she said, stressing the importance of kindness no matter what someone looks like.
