A New Baltimore man accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash was driving under the influence on a suspended license, police said Wednesday. An 18-year-old Clinton Township man faces two 15-year felonies from the June 22 crash that claimed his 21-year-old passenger's life in Harrison Township.
An 18-year-old Clinton Township man was arraigned Monday on two felony charges stemming from a fatal accident that claimed his passenger's life. Gavin Enright was charged in 41B District Court with first-degree fleeing and eluding and operating while intoxicated causing death. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment upon conviction. Enright was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. In the early Friday morning hours, police say Enright's father contacted the Sheriff's Office to report his son was driving a 1999 GMC Yukon without a license. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident early Friday morning in Harrison Township. The father of an 18-year-old Clinton Township man called the Macomb County Sheriff's Office after his son was driving a 1999 GMC Yukon without a license. Deputies located vehicle driving slowly without any lights and tried to stop the Yukon. The driver accelerated at a high rate of speed, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office, and tried to enter eastbound Interstate 94 from 16 Mile Road. The driver lost control of the Yukon, which caused it to roll multiple times.
