Police: New Baltimore Driver Who Fled Fatal Crash Was Intoxicated

The 40-year-old suspect was arraigned Tuesday on multiple charges, including a third-offense drunken driving.

A New Baltimore man accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash was driving under the influence on a suspended license, police said Wednesday. James Gill, 40, was charged Tuesday in 72nd District Court in Marine City with operating while intoxicated causing death, driving while license suspended causing death, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident and third-offense operating while intoxicated, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office. Teen Charged in Accident That Killed His Passenger

An 18-year-old Clinton Township man faces two 15-year felonies from the June 22 crash that claimed his 21-year-old passenger's life in Harrison Township.

An 18-year-old Clinton Township man was arraigned Monday on two felony charges stemming from a fatal accident that claimed his passenger's life. Gavin Enright was charged in 41B District Court with first-degree fleeing and eluding and operating while intoxicated causing death. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment upon conviction. Enright was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. In the early Friday morning hours, police say Enright's father contacted the Sheriff's Office to report his son was driving a 1999 GMC Yukon without a license. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident early Friday at Metropolitan Parkway and I-94.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident early Friday morning in Harrison Township. The father of an 18-year-old Clinton Township man called the Macomb County Sheriff's Office after his son was driving a 1999 GMC Yukon without a license. Deputies located vehicle driving slowly without any lights and tried to stop the Yukon. The driver accelerated at a high rate of speed, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office, and tried to enter eastbound Interstate 94 from 16 Mile Road. The driver lost control of the Yukon, which caused it to roll multiple times.
