A beachfront public park positioned in New Baltimore's historic downtown, Burke Park is family friendly with playscapes, an extensive pier and more. A harbor with public boat docks is expected to be complete this winter, and a kayak rental business is slated to set up in upcoming months. Along Anchor Bay in Chesterfield Township, this public park is popular among anglers and families that utilize the playscapes. View upcoming events at the historical museum in downtown New Baltimore.
Grand Pacific House Museum will host two popular annual events this December. The open house will be held from 3-6 p.m. Dec. 9. The museum will offer tours, tea, coffee and dessert. The event is free and open to the public. The open house is on the same day as the Jingle Bell Run, also in the city's downtown. Dubbed the 'Jewel on the Lake' by Macomb County officials, the waterfront downtown is stepping into the spotlight.

Celtic Sisters Candles and Candies in downtown New Baltimore will move into the building that has housed Moon River Soap Co.
Customers will have more merchandise and space when shopping for Michigan-made products by local artisians in downtown New Baltimore. Celtic Sisters Candles and Candies at 51059 Washington St. is planning to reopen May 1 at the larger building occupied by Moon River Soap Co. Moon River is relocating to Rochester. The natural soap store will close March 23 in New Baltimore and reopen in the Oakland County spot in mid-April. The new space for Celtic Sisters, next to Washington Street Wine House, will offer the gift store more room for displays of hand-crafted toys, jewelry, candles and, of course, slews of candies. The New Baltimore Historical Society’s annual event took place Friday evening downtown.
Walking through the streets of downtown New Baltimore on a chilly December night is a real treat for anyone wishing to discover the history (and hauntings) of this little town by the water. Led by New Baltimore Historical Society President Rich Gonyeau, over 20 participants braved the cold air, with candle in hand, as Gonyeau spoke of the way the town was in the late 1800s. Grand Pacific House Museum on Washington Street was the headquarters for the event. Though rich, old-time hotels and dozens of saloons downtown have since been turned into new businesses, the people who once inhabited and worked in these spaces may not have moved on.
