Police Lieutenant Allegedly Crashed into Teen While Drunk in New Baltimore

The preliminary exam for the now-retired Harper Woods detective lieutenant began Thursday in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore, according to police.

The court case for a former high-ranking, off-duty police officer who allegedly crashed into a teen a year ago on a New Baltimore road began Thursday in 42-2 District Court, New Baltimore police said. William Snider, 49, is accused of hitting a Marine City teen's vehicle head-on last December on County Line Road, causing then 18-year-old driver Ryan Hagel serious injuries. Snider, whose blood-alcohol level was well over the state's legal limit for driving of .08, was charged with a felony of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing serious injury, police said.
