Chesterfield Township police are investigating a burglary at Marquis Jewelers in which a safe containing more than $100,000 in inventory was stolen. The robbery at the store located at 34748 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township occurred sometime during the early morning hours of Monday, April 23, according to a police report. The owner of Marquis Jewelers arrived at his store at approximately 8:30 a.m. after receiving a notification that his alarm system had a power failure. Upon arrival, the owner discovered his business had been broken into and the safe—which was approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 2,700 pounds—had been stolen.
