L'Anse Creuse North Boys Wins District Basketball Championship

L'Anse Creuse North defeated Port Huron Friday to claim the boys basketball district championship, according to the MHSAA website.

The L'Anse Creuse North High School boys basketball team topped Port Huron Friday at home to win the MHSAA Basketball District 32 championship. L'Anse Creuse North is now 19-3, and moves on to the Boys Basketball Regionals. L'Anse Creuse will face Chippewa Valley (13-9) Monday at at Grosse Pointe North.

Anchor Bay Schools, L'Anse Creuse Public Schools and New Haven Community were among the Metro Detroit districts that called off classes Monday due to weather conditions. Hairy Male Staff Wrap Up No-Shave November at Both L’Anse Creuse High Schools

Staff sprouting Fu Manchu’s and ZZ Top’s raise well over $4,000 for charity.

Male staff at L’Anse Creuse North and L'Anse Creuse High School skipped shaving during the month of November and raised well over $4,000 for the L’Anse Creuse Foundation and the Link Crew program at their schools. Students donated in the name of their favorite hairy teacher, while other staff helped raise money for the best-loved beard.  It was the first time the two schools have participated in this bewhiskered fundraiser.  The L’Anse Creuse Foundation will be using the funds to help with teacher grants for special projects and for student scholarships. Link Crew is a freshman transitions program that helps incoming 8th graders succeed as first year students in the high schools.  At L’Anse Creuse North in Macomb Township, 12 men grew …

VOX Church Donated 100 Turkey Dinners for Thanksgiving

The Chesterfield Township-based church that hold services at L'Anse Creuse High School North handed out turkey dinners.

One hundred local families had Thanksgiving dinners this year, thanks to VOX Church members and volunteers. The church handed out baskets containing turkey, gravy, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberries, onions, rolls and a $10 gift card on Nov. 18, according to VOX. The Chesterfield Township-based church has services in L'Anse Creuse High School North in Macomb Township.
