Ryan Specht, 22, had been on life support following a Monday night accident.
A 22-year-old Chesterfield Township man died from injuries sustained in a Monday accident, township police said Thursday. Ryan Specht was taken of life support Wednesday afternoon and died soon after in McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, according to police. Police said they had received a call Monday at 9 p.m. reporting that a man was walking in the middle of the roadway on 24 Mile just west of Gratiot Avenue. As officers responded to the report, police received another call saying that the man had been struck by a vehicle. When Chesterfield police arrived on the scene, they found Specht unconscious in the road. A 24-year-old Chesterfield Township man is in critical condition following a Thursday evening crash on Jefferson Avenue, police said Friday. Witnesses reported to police that the motorcyclist was heading south on Jefferson around 5:30 p.m. when a 59-year-old Chesterfield woman turned left in front of him from northbound Jefferson onto Au Sable. The man lost control and fell off his bike, sliding southbound on Jefferson, according to police. "Accident investigators at the scene believe the man struck his helmet on the wheel of the woman’s vehicle as he slid on the pavement past her," Chesterfield Township Police Detective Sgt. Three Ira Township women were taken to a Mount Clemens hospital. A baby was checked for injuries at the accident scene.
A 50-year-old New Baltimore driver crashed into four people, including a small child, Sunday night in Ira Township, police said Monday. Three of the pedestrians--women, ages 44, 43 and 22, all of Ira Township--were taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens following the crash. A 1-year-old child inside a stroller was checked for injuries at the accident scene, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office stated. The women's conditions were not immediately released. The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when the New Baltimore woman headed southbound on Bethuy Road north of Dixie Highway.
