The Michigan Attorney General's Office announced the criminal charges against the Chesterfield Township man and a New Baltimore woman.
A Macomb County Sheriff's deputy was charged in an alleged scheme to fix an adult entertainment club employee's alcohol screening tests, according to the Michigan Attorney General's Office. The deputy, Joseph Cada, 45 of Chesterfield Township, and Trista Caswell, 28 of New Baltimore, face one charge of obstruction of justice—a felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment. The charges are the result of an investigation by the FBI-led Detroit Public Corruption Task Force and the Novi Police Department, Attorney General Bill Schuette said in a Wednesday news release. A 21-year-old woman is accused of stealing approximately $60,000 from her employer at the Sunoco gas station on 23 Mile Road.
A trial date has been set for a New Baltimore woman accused of stealing thousands from her employer's safe, according to court records. Taylor Klein, 21, is scheduled to appear March 7 before Judge Mary Chrzanowski in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens. Klein faces a 15-year felony of embezzlement between $50,000 to $100,000 for allegedly stealing approximately $60,000 from her employer at the Sunoco gas station on 23 Mile Road. She is suspected of fishing cash out of the top of a safe deposit slip, police said. Investigators said they identified her on surveillance footage and recovered more than $50,000 from her apartment. Roland Lee Moore Jr. was scheduled to face trial Tuesday in Macomb County Circuit Court.
A Chesterfield Township man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges he robbed and stabbed a McDonald's customer in the drive-thru lane last winter. Roland Lee Moore Jr., 36, pleaded to one count of assault with great bodily harm less than murder and armed robbery before Macomb Circuit Judge David Viviano, according to court records. The plea took place on the first day of his scheduled trial in Mount Clemens and followed his initial rejection of a deal last month. Under the agreement, Moore is to serve between 12 and 25 years, the records show. He faced up to life imprisonment upon conviction of the charges. He is scheduled for sentencing at 9 a.m. Feb. 26. A New Baltimore woman faces embezzlement and possession of marijuana charges.
An embezzlement case stemming from a New Baltimore gas station was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court. New Baltimore resident Taylor Klein, 21, waived her preliminary exam Jan. 2 in 42-2 District Court. Klein is expected to have a pretrial hearing and arraignment at the higher court in Mount Clemens Jan. 14 before Circuit Judge Mary Chrzanowski, according to court officials and records. A 62-year-old Chesterfield Township man accused of holding someone up in the Kohl's parking lot pleaded guilty this month. Marvin Lee Hopkins pleaded to one count of armed robbery Nov. 15 in Macomb Circuit Court in Mount Clemens. Under the deal, prosecutors agreed not to add the charge of third-degree habitual offender. John Olszewski operated funeral homes in New Haven, New Baltimore and Richmond.
A local funeral home director accused of contract fraud pleaded guilty this month in Macomb County Circuit Court. John Olszewski, who previously ran businesses in New Haven, New Baltimore and Richmond, pleaded guilty to one count of contract conversion before the case went to trial. The plea deal calls for probation and for him to pay roughly $12,000 in restitution to multiple people. A second count was dismissed under the deal that does not call for jail time, according to court files and his attorney. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 30 in the Mount Clemens courthouse. Here i really liked the sherriffs from macomb county alot better than the other police agencies here. If this is supposed to be a serious crime.. what would they think if they knew that the entire chesterfield township police dept is corrupt from the police chief on down?
