UPDATE: L'Anse Creuse in Sight of $25,000 Pepsi Refresh Grant

The school district has a second shot at a Pepsi Refresh Project, but needs community votes to win the money that will benefit the community itself.

Ranked No. 24, the L'Anse Creuse School District is only 14 spots away from winning a $25,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant. Should L'Anse Creuse receive the grant, it will be able to provide services such as PC repair, exercise, health screenings, Internet classes, theater performance and automotive repair free of charge to low-income community members. While the district is able to provide some of these classes and services without the grant, the opportunities to do so are few. “We just filled two classes (for the winter) with students teaching senior citizens computers, so that demonstrates there is a need and a desire for that kind of programming,” said Michelle Irwin, L'Anse Creuse senior director for community relations and programs. “…
