Reigning Miss Michigan 2012, Angela Venditti, will serve as the keynote speaker at the L’Anse Creuse Community Action Coalition's annual Dialogue Day.

Started more than a decade ago, Dialogue Day is designed to bring students and community leaders together to freely talk about issues such as personal empowerment, bullying, healthy teen relationships, drug use/abuse and more. With a desire to help Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey, student council, kids, their families and local businesses have raised approximately $1,500 for the American Red Cross during "Slippers for Sandy." The fund-raiser started when Green kindergarten teacher Pam Olcese, a New Jersey native who lost her childhood home in Brielle, NJ in the storm, wanted to to give back with support of school administration. Data from the Michigan Department of Education shows the Class of 2013 at Anchor Bay, L'Anse Creuse and New Haven did better on the Michigan Merit Exam than their predecessors.
