New Baltimore Stolen Car, Trailer Recovered in Detroit

Police say the 30-foot trailer and 1930s classic car have been found after media reported the thefts that took place last week at Richard's Auto Parts on 23 Mile.

A 30-foot trailer and 1930s classic car stolen from a New Baltimore auto parts business have been recovered in southwest Detroit, but investigators are still searching for persons of interest in the case, police said Friday. After alerting the media Monday to the Thursday night thefts at Richard's Auto Parts on 23 Mile in New Baltimore, police said the Macomb Auto Thefts Squad, also known as MATS, got information Wednesday the trailer was on the 2300 block of Wendell Street in Detroit. When found, the trailer did not contain the 1937 Fiat Topolino that was inside it at the time of the theft, according to New Baltimore police.
