Biggby Brewing For October Opening

A vacant New Baltimore building on Green near Washington streets is set for franchise coffee shop.

Anyone jonesing for a can mark their calendars for fall.

Owner Jim Dehem said Thursday that the vacant building on Green near Washington will open in early October if everything goes as planned. The franchise location will be similar to other Biggby shops, featuring a slew of menu options such as coffees, smoothies, bagels and desserts.

The New Baltimore coffee shop will have a drive-through, free WI-FI and a meeting area, Dehem said, adding that the business has been more than a year in the making due to city site approval and other planning processes.

"I think it's going to be a great thing for the community," he said.

The owners, Jim Dehem and wife Kathy Dehem, also will have about 2,000 square feet of rental space available in the same building for an undetermined tenant.
