Chesterfield Township Man Arrested for 12th Time on Drunken Driving Charge

A Chesterfield Township man with a slew of drunken driving convictions was arrested this week for the 12th time on the same charge, township police said Wednesday.

Bohdan Andriaschko, 58, has 11 drunken driving convictions on his record dating back to 1982, township Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said. 

Andriaschko was arrested around 10 p.m. Monday following a domestic violence report on Kuchenmeister Street. His ex-girlfriend reported that he attacked her and fled in her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, Myers stated. 

An officer stopped the vehicle on Scholar near Gratiot, noting the suspect was driving on a suspected license, smelled of alcohol and failed sobriety tests. He was arrested and taken to the township police station, where he refused to submit a breath sample, police said.

He was arraigned Wednesday in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore on charges of third-offense operating while intoxicated—a five-year felony maximum charge for that crime—along with charges of third-offense, two-year felony domestic violence and misdemeanors of operating with suspended license and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, police said.

He is being held in Macomb County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 cash bond.
