As officers responded to the report, police received another call saying that the man had been struck by a vehicle.

When Chesterfield police arrived on the scene, they found Specht unconscious in the road. The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old Chesterfield Township woman, had been traveling eastbound on 24 Mile Road. She told police she didn't see him until it was too late.
