Crime Blotter: Chesterfield Police Dog Searches Car, Finds Pot, Pipes and Pills

An 18-year-old New Baltimore man was arrested this month on suspicion of operating under the influence of drugs, marijuana possession, having dangerous drugs and violating a restricted driver's license, according to a police report.

Police stopped the man's 2003 Pontiac shortly after midnight July 2 when the driver failed to turn on his signal in the Baker area.

When approaching the car, the officer smelled burnt marijuana and gave the driver a sobriety test, which he failed, the report stated.

K-9 officer Bulzi searched the car, finding marijuana, pipes, a bong and pills.

The driver also admitted to abusing a prescription drug without having a doctor's script for the medication, police said.
