Emergency Responders Break Glass to Free Woman from Car

The uninjured woman was trapped after a collision about 9:40 p.m. Friday on Gratiot near Carriage Way, police and fire officials said.

Emergency responders broke a window to free a woman from her car following an accident Friday night in Chesterfield Township, police said.

Police and firefighters arrived around 9:40 p.m. to the scene at Gratiot and Carriage Way, township police and fire officials said soon after.

A township fire rescue truck was immediately deployed in response to reports a woman was trapped inside her vehicle. Police said there was a problem with the lock mechanism on the vehicle door and they broke the window to free her. By 10 p.m., police said they were leaving the scene.

No one was injured in the incident and further details were not immediately released. Some local roads were reportedly slick late Friday night due to icy conditions.
