Man Charged in Armed Robbery of Pizza Delivery Driver in Chesterfield Township

A 21-year-old Warren man was charged with armed robbery and felony firearm Monday in 42-2 District Court.

A 21-year-old man, accused of robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in Chesterfield Township, was arraigned Monday in 42-2 District Court, police said.

Davion Calvin, of Warren, was charged with armed robbery and felony firearm in the New Baltimore court. If convicted, he could face up to life imprisonment, police said.

Chesterfield Township detectives executed a search warrant early Friday morning at a unit in the Aspen Creek apartment complex, Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said.

Although no one was found in the apartment, detectives recovered a semi-automatic handgun, clothes that matched the suspect's attire and other evidence pertaining to the robbery, Myers said.

The pizza delivery driver had been held up at gun point Thursday night in the Aspen Creek complex parking lot. The victim positively identified Calvin from a photo lineup and the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office authorized the criminal charges in a warrant, Myers said.

Police said they then searched for Calvin, including in Warren and Chesterfield Township, with township Sgt. Ed Colinas and Officer Paul Kasperski ultimately finding him in an Aspen Creek apartment. He was taken into custody without incident.

He is being held in Macomb County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond, police said.
