New Baltimore Police Chief Urges Chesterfield Voters to Approve Fire, Police Taxes

New Baltimore Police Chief Tim Wiley encouraged neighboring Chesterfield Township voters to support proposed tax hikes for emergency services.

During a Thursday speech at an annual Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce membership breakfast in Chesterfield Township, Wiley pointed to quick response times from the city and township in .

"It was because of those core values that exists in New Baltimore and Chesterfield that I am able to be here," he told the crowd inside Municipal Offices on Sugarbush.

Township residents will decide whether to approve separate that would generate more money for the departments.

New Baltimore and and fire departments often support each other and share dispatch services.

"I'm urging all of you to talk to friends, talk to family members...to ensure this is approved," he said, adding: "It matters to the neighbors of Chesterfield Township, too."
