Chesterfield Township residents are encouraged to attend a public hearing March 28 to discuss options for police funding.

Township officials want to hear "comments regarding alternatives to layoffs in the Chesterfield Township police department."

A progress update from the township's work group, tasked with exploring solutions for the budget deficit in the police department, will then be given. A question-and-answer session with work group co-chairs is to follow, according to the township.
