Ashley Elementary And Great Oaks Elementary Designated Reward Schools
Reward Schools perform in the top five percent of all schools in the state of Michigan, according to Anchor Bay School District.
Two Anchor Bay Schools have been designated "Reward Schools" for their high performance level.
Ashley Elementary in New Baltimore and Great Oaks Elementary in Chesterfield Township received the state of Michigan designation because they perform in the top five percent of all schools in the state, according to a presentation at a previous Anchor Bay Schools Board of Education meeting.
No school in the district was placed on the "needing improvement list," the fall presentation by Joe McDonald, principal of Anchor Bay High School, and Marie DeWitte, director of Elementary Education stated.

It also noted:
- Anchor Bay scored above the state average in all areas of the ACT, making gains in each area from the previous year, with a composite score of 20.0 over the state’s composite score of 19.7.
- Additionally, Anchor Bay students have consistently performed above the state and county averages on MEAP testing.
